I want to extend the stay for my Parents for few months. They are on visitors visa. I am aware that I need to file form I - 539 for this purpose. I am not sure what reason should I specify for extention?
If some one had done extention for visitors visa in past please, I would appereciate your help on this.

Also, dont specify Medical emergencies. They sometimes ask you to provide letters from the doctors regarding this. You can just say that they need some more time to visit places.
Ideally, I wouldnt recommend, having them overstay. This might have issues in the future, if they plan to visit again.
If they have a 5 or 10 year multiple entry visas, they can go back home and come again in another 6 months or so.

These guys did not mention specifically "legal immigrants" but to me that sounds even easier since most of them possibly have decent wages and also maintain a legally sound lifestyle.

My company wants to transfer me to Europe for 2 yrs. Its a very good opportunity for my career. My I140 approved and 485 is pending. PD March 2006 EB2 India. It wont become current for foreseeable future. I am appplying for 3 yrs of H1B extension.
Can I be outside the US for 2 yrs w/o jeopardizing the GC process. Can I then come back after 2 yrs on stamped H1?
My wife used EAD to work. Can I apply her H4 extension with me and she foregoes her EAD? Will she get H4 status and extension along with my H1?
Can she then come back with me after 2 yrs on H4 and then revert back to EAD to work?
I need to make a decision soon. Any replies will be greatly appreciated!

Just make the switch,,thats it! Its that simple!! Make sure when u join the new company they file your perm asap and when u r in the 140 stage, you could work with your lawyer to port your old PD. AC21 has made life better!

I have utilized AC-21 and moved onto another employer and I will be using my EAD. I have an I-94, from the I-797 of my previous employer, which expires in May 2008.
The question I have is if we have utilized AC-21 can we still live here in US past the I-94 date? Will the stay be considered legal? I ask because as far as I know when a person is on H1B he can not afford to go past the I-94 validity date, does the same apply with an AOS applicant?

The idea of a H1 transfer is a misnomer. Every application is a new H1. However, if you already are in a valid H1 nonimmigrant category then your new application is not subjected to the cap.
